Truly a revolutionary food product for the gecko community, Pangea's new Fig And Insects gecko diet is a banana free formula with a strong fig smell and flavor that geckos seem to go crazy over! Entice even your pickiest eaters that dislike the taste of banana by giving them a food with figs as the base fruit instead. By using fig as the base, Pangea was able to eliminate the banana while still maintaining very low levels of Oxalic acid. Crickets and BSFL (black soldier fly larvae) were added as the main source of protein.
Pangea Fig & Insects mixes up a bit thinner than other formulas due to not having the banana as an ingredient, but the geckos seem to like this thinner mix. It can be more difficult to see lick marks so we recommend offering smaller amounts to begin with so you can see it disappear.

Our crested geckos seemed to enjoy it about the same as they did other Pangea flavors which was not surprising, however, we were pleasantly surprised with how our chahoua geckos responded. Known to be picky eaters, the chahoua devoured the Fig And Insects formula. Even more surprising was how well our more exotic gecko species responded: our colony of Wahlberg's velvet geckos preferred the Fig And Insects over the banana based formulas when given an option of the two diets. Being mostly insectivorous in the wild, the Wahlberg's definitely enjoyed the high insect content.

Directions: Mix 1 part powder to 2 parts water, adjust to achieve desired consistency. This mix is not as thick as our other formulas because there is no banana. Offer food daily and remove uneaten food after 24 hours. Prepared mix is good for up to 7 days if refrigerated. Open dry mix is good for 6 months at room temperature or 1 year if refrigerated. Unopened shelf life is 2 years. Occasional insect feedings are recommended but optional.
