Spider peat is an ideal substrate for the vivarium — and the natural first choice for tarantula keepers. Unlike many organic substrates it seldom develops mould, and its fine texture makes it an excellent burrowing medium for adults and spiderlings alike.
Why keepers choose it
- Mould-resistant — stays clean in humid enclosures where other substrates spoil
- Fine texture — safe for delicate spiderlings and burrowing species
- Plant-friendly — for arachnoculturists who grow live plants in their tanks, this is the natural choice
How to use
Layer 3–5cm for terrestrial species, or 10cm+ for dedicated burrowers. Lightly moisten one corner to create a humidity gradient, and monitor with a hygrometer. Works well blended with coco peat for larger enclosures.
