Dubia roaches (Blaptica dubia), also known as the orange-spotted roach, are widely considered the best all-round staple feeder for reptiles — and one of our most-loved products, with keepers rating them a favourite for everything from hatchlings to adult dragons.
Why dubia beat other feeders
- More meat, less shell: higher protein and a better meat-to-chitin ratio than crickets, so they're easier to digest
- No noise, no smell: unlike crickets, dubia are silent and virtually odourless
- Can't climb or fly: they can't scale smooth surfaces, so escapees aren't a problem
- Long-lived: unused feeders survive for months in a simple bin, so nothing goes to waste

Every size for every animal
From small nymphs for baby geckos and chameleons to large nymphs and adults for bearded dragons, monitors, tegus and larger birds. Feed roaches no longer than the space between your pet's eyes.
Simple to keep
A plastic bin with egg trays for hiding space, kept warm (24–32°C), with Roach/Cricket Chow and water crystals — that's it. Dubia are arguably the easiest feeder insect to maintain, and many keepers end up breeding their own colony with a heating pad.
